About Hanging Walls
There should be two "kindsa" hanging walls.
One "kinda" hanging wall should be reserved for the hanging high, by the scrotum, of Geologists who write press releases that appear aimed only at impressing other earth science professionals with how much bafflegab is used and how deeply in a press release good news can be imbedded to better assure it won't be recognized as such.
The other "kinda" hanging wall is a term used by Geologists to describe the strata found above the principal plane of breakage of rock.
The Old Geologist's Decoder Ring Readings
I got out my magic decoder ring to help us understand what was said in the first of three June PRs. Cassidy was still drilling up a storm on the JJ and KD1 mineral zones of the Kourassa property. i.e. CDY figured out that the artisans' experience over the millennia is the best indicator of where to look for more gold, but deeper.
Whu'd they say? The important things:
1. Cassidy was "beefing up" the rig to drill deeper and faster.
2. The JJ mineral zone PR for example: The trend was drilled by 12 RC holes and one diamond drill core hole for which assay results are in. The map showing where the drilling was done is now on the website.
3. The JJ zone runs NW - SE. Attempts to extend the zone lengthwise to the north(west?) show complexity, maybe a new zone sneaking in. Hole 587 drilled approx 50 m north of previous DDH drilling. It didn't hit, but the next hole, another 50 m north(west?) showed that artisanal mining had occurred.
There was a big hole underground where the JJ zone should have been. Someone beat us to it. But I can now more accurately guess that the JJ zone trend must extend to at least here. We know the artisans didn't dig big holes into low grade stuff and we know they couldn't get to the deeper stuff. So this is an almost a certain sign that most of the gold is likely still there, deeper, waiting for us.
4. KRC590 hit a double! One is an exceptional zone of 5 m thickness with 10.64 g/t gold. (But first mentioned isnt best in this PR. Remember this number: 5 x 10.64 = 53.2. Hold that thought!)
5. 40 m. further SE, hole KRC589 hit 11.0 m. of 1.6 g/t gold.
Another 50 meters away, KRC591 found a very nice 3.46 g/t Au over 6.0 m.
Holy Cow! This JJ is getting as big as the SF!
6. A 55 m. step further SE, hole KRC594 intersected a broad, high-grade zone assaying 6.37 g/t Au over 16.0 m. (Well! 6.37 X 16.0 = 101.92 - beats 53.2 by a double.)
7. Yup. The PR says, "One diamond drill hole, KD157, was completed in the central (whether this is central depends on how far the JJ zone keeps going)! part of the JJ Zone between KRC594 and KRC595. The hole, intersected a hangingwall zone (READ THIS AS = a new type emplacement zone) assaying 20.48 g/t Au over 4.5 m in addition to the JJ structure which returned an upper interval of 1.22 g/t Au over 3.0 m and a lower interval of 1.10 g/t Au over 10.0 m."
Addem up: 20.48 X 4.5 = 92.16 plus 1.22 X 3 = 3.66 plus 1.1 X 10.0 = 11. WOW now that's a winner at 106.82! Happiness does indeed lie in the middle. And remember, always save the best for the last in a PR -- right brokers?
8. I can't bear to think about how the astounding 25 meter thick 51 g/t zone of hole KRC565 was first: well buried; and then, summarily dismissed, in the June 7 release! Cmon guys, you are making me cry!
Yer Geology lesson:
Cassidy says it interprets that DDH KD157 found a (fat rich) zone in the hangingwall. Contrary to what I would prefer a hangingwall to be, in Geology it is not a place where you punish people who write bad press releases. The usage means that core permits Cassidy to interpret a mode of mineral occurrence different from that where only the sheared and fractured principal plane of sliding or breakage is mineralized. It can mean a lot, especially if the mineralization actually replaces pre-existing rock or forms a thick broken up zone rather than only "filling in the cracks" along the main break. It may mean that this is a locality where the heat energy was higher or the fluids richer and drove chemical activity more strongly. It's awfully good news!
Don't sell your stock! This project keeps getting better and better rockwise.
Oh, and speaking of cored and drilled holes. Wonder what the assays were for holes drilled since?
